Korea’s Paradise City Indoor Theme Park Opens at the End of March

“Wonderbox,” a new non-game facility for Paradise City Casino Resort in Korea, will open on March 31, Paradise Inc., one of the venue’s promoters, confirmed to GGRAsia in an email.

Wonderbox describes the resort as an “indoor family amusement park” with the theme of “night fair.” It is said to include carnival-style games and several amusement facilities including a bungee drop, Ferris wheel, carousel, and “mega mix” branded circular rides.

Launched in April 2017, Paradise City is located near Incheon International Airport, Seoul’s main airport with casinos open only to foreigners. The casino resort complex is promoted by a venture company called Paradise Sega Sammy Inc., a joint venture between Japanese conglomerate Sega Sammy Holdings and Korean game company Paradise Inc.

Paradise City’s first and second phases opened on Sept. 21. In November, it announced that the Wonderbox theme park will open at a casino resort in the first half of 2019.

According to the resort, a one-day Wonderbox ticket costs 28,000 won ($24.80) for adults and 20,000 won for children.

Paradise said in its fourth-quarter results that Paradise Segasammi’s quarterly net loss widened to 42.46 billion won from 3.1 billion won in the fourth quarter of 2017.

Paradise also noted that Paradise City recorded its biggest quarterly casino decline on record. Paradise City’s quarterly casino sales reached W71.8 billion, up 16.6 percent from the nearly W61.6 billion casino decline recorded in the fourth quarter of 2017.
