Its the Almeida Catches Lewis Through Wrestling No. 1

Xylton Almeida (32, Brazil) beat Derrick Lewis (38, USA) at home in Brazil and won 15 games in a row.

He requested Cyril Gan (33, France), the No. 1 ranked UFC heavyweight (120.2kg), as his next opponent.

Almeida, ranked 9th in the UFC heavyweight division, defeated Luis, ranked 10th, by unanimous decision (50-44, 50-44, 50 -45).

Almeida’s career record stands at 20 wins and 2 losses (6 wins in UFC). 지울프-토토

It was a one-sided victory through overwhelming wrestling.

Almeida took down Lewis and held him on the ground from the beginning to the end of the match.

Almeida was in control in an advantageous position for 21 minutes and 10 seconds out of the total game time of 25 minutes.

This is the longest single fight control time in UFC heavyweight history.

Lewis only barely blocked the submission and failed to offer any resistance in the lower position.

UFC lightweight (70.3 kg) champion Islam Makhachev (32, Russia), who was watching the match, said on social media

“This is what happens when you don’t do any grappling training,” and “Please bring a pillow (to Lewis, who is lying down).” .

In the post-match interview, Almeida drew cheers from the Brazilian home fans by asking

Last night, Luis said he wanted a slugfest, but do you remember when I said it would be a (one-sided) show?”

He continued, “I knew that Lewis’ punch was strong.

So, I prepared a strategy over the past 2-3 weeks and was able to keep him on the ground and avoid his right hand punches.

I got hit a few times, but there was no major damage,” he said, explaining his strategy for today’s game.

With this, Almeida, who recorded three consecutive wins in the UFC heavyweight division, selected Cyril Gan, ranked number one in the heavyweight division, as his next opponent.

He said, “I want Cyril Liver.

I can fight in Paris (his home), Salvador (my home) or anywhere is fine,” he said.

I’m ready.

Let’s stick together, Cyril Gan,” he provoked.

The UFC heavyweight title battle is currently in flux.

The match between champion Jon Jones (36, USA) and former champion Stipe Miocic (41, USA), scheduled for UFC 295 next week, was canceled due to Jones’ pectoral muscle injury.

Instead, 2nd place Sergei Pavlovich (31, Russia) and 4th place Tom Aspinall (30, England) will compete for the interim title.

UFC CEO Dana White (54, USA) announced that he would push for a title fight between Jones and Miocic again next year.

Rookie Almeida is trying to take advantage of this situation and quickly gain the right to challenge for the title.

To do that, you have to beat a top ranked player like Gan in your next match.

Meanwhile, in the co-main event, Nicolas Dalby (38, Denmark) shocked Brazilian home fans with a come-from-behind TKO victory over 15-win, undefeated rookie Gabriel Bongfim (26, Brazil).

Dalby suffered from waves of attacks from Bongpim in the first round, but he withstood and put pressure on a tired Bongpim in the second round.

In the end, he finished Bongfim with a series of knee kicks followed by ground and pound with 27 seconds left at the end of the second round
