Dr. Karin Schnar Takes On AGCO CEO And Registrar

This week, the board of directors of Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission announced the selection of a new CEO and registrar. 바카라사이트 Now the role will be handed over to Dr. Karin Schnarr, who has full experience as a senior executive. According to the regulator, she will begin her new role on Sept. 18, 2023.

AGCO oversees the liquor, gaming, cannabis and horse racing sectors under the principles of honesty and integrity, and was launched by the Ontario government on February 23, 1998 under the Alcohol and Game Regulation and Public Protection Act of 1996, which will now be led by Dr. Schnar.

It is safe to say that Dr. Schnar is a senior management team focused on high quality and performance, with a wide range of academic, public and private sector consulting environments. She is an associate professor of strategic management at the Lazaridis School of Business and Economics at Wilfried Laurier University, where she serves as director of MBA and BBA programs

Over the years, she has also held several senior positions in the state government. This includes a Chief of Staff to ministers from several portfolios, during which she led the development of public policy, legislation and regulation relating to key government priorities. She recently headed the Ontario government’s Women’s and Economic Task Force

In addition, she boasts numerous connections within the organization, across government departments and agencies, and with external partners and stakeholders. Dr. Schnar also has a wealth of board and governance experience in several industries. Among many others, she was recently chair of the Ontario Higher Education Quality Commission and vice president of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Commission.

It should be mentioned that she earned a Ph.D. in strategic management and an MBA from Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario. But that’s not all, as she awards a master of arts (English Literature) from Queen’s University and a bachelor’s degree in arts and science from the University of Waterloo.

The gambling regulator and its board of directors said in a statement that they were very happy to welcome Dr. Schnar to the agency. It also expressed its sincere thanks and appreciation to Tom Mungham, the outgoing CEO and registrar who announced his retirement from the regulator earlier this year. He played a major role in introducing the state’s iGaming sector.

In July 2023, the gambling group also reported that Dave Forestell was appointed as the new chairman of the board. Prior to that, he was a member of the board of directors and chairman of iGaming Ontario, a subsidiary of the committee. These high-ranking changes may explain the delay in regulators announcing decisions on heavy sports betting marketing in the region.
