‘Prime double-double’ pro basketball team Hyundai Mobis wins by 31 points over Jeonggwanjang

Gage Prim led Ulsan’s Hyundai Mobis with 25 points and 11 rebounds as the professional basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak to Anyang Jungkwanjang.

The Hyundai Mobis defeated the Jeonggwanjang 108-77 in an away game of the 2023-2024 Jeonggwanjang Professional Basketball League regular season at Anyang Gymnasium on Monday.

Hyundai Mobis improved to 8 wins and 8 losses, good for sixth place.

Jeong Kwanjang lost its fourth straight game to drop to 9-8, but remained in fifth place.

In the second quarter, when Hyundai Mobis took a three-point lead, Kwanjang struggled as the team didn’t make a single three-pointer.

Omari Spellman, in his second game back from injury, also missed a one-handed dunk.

Hyundai Mobis, on the other hand, crashed the rim with every shot they threw, and Lee Woo-seok hit back-to-back three-pointers to extend the lead to 10 points.

In the third quarter, Hyundai Mobis began to solidify the victory, scoring 32 points from Ham Ji-hoon, Kim Kook-chan, and Lee Woo-seok, and holding Jung Kwan-jang to 15 points.

In the fourth quarter, as the gap between the two teams grew to over 30 points with just over four minutes left in the game, Hyundai Mobis brought in a number of bench players.

Hyundai Mobis Prime led the way with 25 points and 11 rebounds, followed by Kim Kook-chan with 14 points, including three three-pointers, and Ham Ji-hoon with 14 points.

Jung Kwan-jang’s “transfer student duo” Choi Sung-won scored 16 points and Lee Jong-hyun had 13 points and seven rebounds, but they were unable to prevent the loss.

At Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium, Goyang Sono defeated Seoul Samseong 78-64.

The Sonos, who have won three straight, are now 7-8 and in seventh place.

Samsung, on the other hand, lost its last three games in a row and dropped from ninth to 13th place with a 3-13 record.

Following a three-pointer by Jeon Sung-hyun, SONO scored six straight points with a steal by Lee Jung-hyun to increase their lead to 61-51 at the end of the third quarter.

In the final quarter, Choi Hyun-min hit a three-pointer with 2:32 left to make it a 16-point game and seal the win for SONO.

SONO was led by Lee Jung-hyun with 22 points, Onuaku with 17 points and 10 rebounds, and Jeon Sung-hyun with 16 points, including four 3-pointers.
