Kim comes alive, has another multi-hit game…and 20th stolen base of the season

San Diego Padres starting shortstop Ha-seong Kim (28) returned to the .230s with another multi-hit game (two or more hits in a game).

Kim went 2-for-3 with a double, one walk, one RBI, one run scored, one run batted in and one stolen base while starting in the No. 8 spot in the batting order against the visiting Baltimore Orioles in the 2024 Major League Baseball (MLB) Baseball World Series at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland, U.S., on Monday (June 29).

His batting average increased from 0.229 to 0.232.

It’s been about three months since Kim has hit in the .230s since April 27 against the Philadelphia Phillies.

He has struggled at the plate all season, but has been on a scary upswing lately.

He has two or more hits in three of his last four games, starting on April 26 against the Washington Nationals.

Kim got on base in his first at-bat in the top of the third inning with the score tied 0-0.

After leading off, Kim drew a walk against Baltimore starter Albert Suarez.

On a two-pitch, one-strike count, he took a low, outside pitch for a double.

Kim then stole second base on the next pitch, a wild pitch from Kyle Higashioka. The steal gave him 20 stolen bases this season.

This is the second straight year that Kim has stolen 20 or more bases after recording 38 last season.

However, Kim was thrown out trying to steal third base immediately afterward.

His first hit came in the bottom of the fifth inning when the team was trailing 0-6.

With runners on first and third, Kim pulled a cut fastball from Suarez for an RBI single to left.

He moved to third on Higashioka’s single to left and came home on Luis Arajes’ double.

He struck out swinging in the top of the sixth to make it 5-6, but got his second hit in his final at-bat in the top of the ninth.

With the bases loaded and a full count of 10 pitches against right-hander Yoenier Cano, he took a low, 157-mph sinking fastball for an infield single.

San Diego was unable to capitalize on the opportunity and lost 6-8. 바카라사이트
