Jeonbuk Ahn Hyun-beom, Jeju Lim Chang-woo, and Kangwon Lee Ji-sol move to new homes via trade

Professional soccer K-League 1 Jeonbuk Hyundai, Jeju United and Gangwon FC are aiming for a rebound in the second half with a trade.

Jeonbuk announced on the 18th. that he had sent midfielder Kim Gun-woong through a player trade with Jeju United and hired Ahn Hyun-beom as a side defender.

Ahn Hyun-beom, who made his professional debut in Ulsan in 2015, participated in 17 league games in his debut season and successfully dropped out in his professional stage.

Ahn Hyun-beom was converted to Jeju United before the 2016 season and won the K-League Young Player Award with 28 league games, 8 points and 4 assistants and helped the Jeju league runner in the 2017 season.

Ahn Hyun-beom, who played an active role in Asan Mugunghwa FC for military service from the 2018 season to the 2019 season, gave Asan Mugunghwa FC the K-League 2 championship in the 2018 season.

Ahn Hyun-beom returned to Jeju in the middle of the 2019 season after completing his military service and played an active role in the 2020 season as the main player for the team, won the K League 2 Best 11 and returned to Jeju in the K League 1.

Ahn Hyun-beom played 222 games in 9 seasons in the K-League from his debut in 2015 to this season, scoring 27 points and providing 17 assists.

Ahn Hyun-beom, who has established himself as a player representing the K-League, was selected for the first time in the national team last June, and made his debut as a national team member by starting in a friendly match against Peru.

Ahn Hyun-beom is coach Petrescu’s third player recruitment and the first domestic player recruitment, and with the addition of Ahn Hyun-beom, who can play any position on the right line, Jeonbuk has thickened the side.

Along with Kim Gun-woong, Jeju recruited veteran defender Lim Chang-woo from Jeju Island in Gangwon-do.

Kim Gun-woong made his professional debut in 2016 at Ulsan Hyundai. After that, he showed steady performance at Jeonnam Dragons (on loan) and Suwon FC. In 2018, he won the men’s soccer gold medal at the 18th Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games. He distinguished himself by being nominated for the K-League Best 11 in the 2022 season and moved to Jeonbuk Hyundai ahead of the 2023 season, but he did not have many opportunities (playing in 11 games) and chose Jeju for a new challenge. 7 goals and 3 assists in 156 appearances in the K-League.

Lim Chang-woo made his professional debut at Ulsan Hyundai in 2010, and continued to play for Daejeon Citizen (on loan), Al Wahda FC (United Arab Emirates), and Gangwon FC. 6 goals and 4 assists in 141 K-League matches. Lim Chang-woo is the right person to fill the gap in the transfer of Ahn Hyun-beom. Lim Chang-woo is an all-weather multi-defense resource who can play not only his main position, right fullback, but also wingback, central defender, and defensive midfielder due to his excellent balance between offense and defense.

Lee Ji-sol is a central defender who led the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup runner-up. In 2018, Ji-sol made his K-League debut by attending Daejeon Hana Citizen’s school. Lee Ji-sol, who played in four games the year he joined, has played steadily since the following year, scoring one goal in 90 appearances so far.

Lee Ji-sol has his strengths in mind, physical struggle and air control based on his stable body of 185cm and 80kg. In fact, he even scored with a header in the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup and paved the way for the semifinals. He shows his ability to manage the game, is expected to increase the speed of the attack if he builds up as a faster defender.
